Yeah, a few services have been ditched.
I updated www.ctenetwork.com
to reflect the changes when I added lil2u. I will likely hold onto some domains, but the services are dead. loadmyspace is completely ditched, never to return. I will likely hold onto the other urls, and give myself some time to think about them and if they can come back in some form or another.
I've found that basing services that rely on other services (wallpaperripper.com, etc.) isn't such a good idea. It's one thing if the site actually pulls the content and keeps it on our server ( www.gameyanker.com
), but if it merely links to it, or pulls it from their server, you are just asking for them to change things just enough on their side to make our side stop working. aka, not worth the effort put into developing a site based on that.
I can say with a near 100% guarantee that all future cten services will either use our own content, or if the content is pulled from somewhere else, it's going to be pulled and stored.
I still find it funny that people use those image hosts that allow you to hotlink to the full version of the image, but then a month or so later, that place is filled with dead image code. I guess some people just wanted it active for a short while, but I like how the dumpt business model is working so far. No dead links, because it's all thumbnails linking to the full versions that have ads (well not currently. I'm currently hunting down a better ad company.) to pay for the bandwidth.
Just figured I'd give the official word here, since I never really announced it, but you got me going off on a tangent.
Hopefully some of the new stuff coming will interest some of you... more so than www.vgblogs.com
